Noelia Álvarez de Román

Noelia Álvarez de Román es agronomista, con una sólida trayectoria en horticultura de conservación. Durante 19 años trabajó en el Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, donde se especializó en la propagación y cultivo de especies leñosas, además de implementar un programa de conservación de semillas para especies altamente amenazadas. En ese período también formó y guió a estudiantes de horticultura.

She currently serves as Plant Conservation Project Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean at Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI), where she develops and implements plant conservation initiatives with a regional focus.

At BGCI, he coordinates the South American Botanical Gardens Network (RSAJB) and supports the coordination of the Caribbean and Central American Botanical Gardens Network (CCABG), promoting collaboration between institutions and strengthening the role of botanical gardens in biodiversity conservation.
