Olivia Steed-Mundin is a horticultural taxonomist at Wakehurst, part of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in the United Kingdom. A plant conservation specialist, she has focused her work on the research, protection and restoration of threatened species, with a special focus on the genus Nothofagus.
She has led international conservation projects, including the global gap analysis for Nothofagus and the coordination of the Global Conservation Consortia for Nothofagus, in collaboration with botanical gardens and scientific partners around the world. Her experience includes field research in Australia and Tasmania, the development of ex situ conservation strategies and the strengthening of international partnerships for biodiversity protection.
Olivia Steed-Mundin's work integrates science, collaborative action and awareness, contributing to strengthening the resilience of ecosystems and the conservation of species key to the health of forests globally.
