It is a project of the University of Concepción, focused on the conservation and restoration of
the biological diversity that subsists in the last native terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems,
adjacent to its Heritage Campus.
The initiative will provide opportunities for research and instances that promote social
engagement and the benefits resulting from people's continuous contact with the natural
environment. Along with this, it will include a place for the ecological restoration of degraded
areas, in situ conservation of native forest remnants, as well as ex situ conservation of
threatened Chilean species.
With a view towards inter and intragenerational equity, Campus Naturaleza at the University of
Concepción will offer a place for citizen awareness and involvement, biocultural education, and
comprehensive health, in a context that enables the fluid interaction of people with the natural
environment.
